Review: AsianGuys.com

Today I decided to write up a review on AsianGuys.com to give you guys some idea of what’s really on the inside of one of the oldest Gay Asian paysites on the net. The AsianGuys.com tour looks pretty slick, with a lot of links to show what’s available to their members.

Once you login you can see what new galleries have been recently added, plus thumbs and a description for each of the various sections within the site. Updates look to be about 2 per week. They also have an area that shows you what models are going to be added in the next update, but it doesn’t say when those updates will occur.

AsianGuys contains a mix of actual onsite content, plus links to content provided by other producers. You’ll find the onsite sets and videos in their Hardcore Video Gallery, Butts and Cocks, Foot Fetish, Japanese Hardcore and Solo Video Gallery sections. Additional features include exclusive Yaoi Art galleries (these are excellent!) and Asian erotica, some very nice Asian Guys wallpapers, and some adult games in the form of picture puzzles and a photo hunt. You also get 8 DVD movies monthly for free via the AEBN Video on Demand (VOD) system for Gay Asian and Latino Bambino.

Other categories serve up links to member personal pages out on the net, a pen pal area, and links to content provided by other Asian websites. If you really enjoy viewing cocks and butts or feet photos, you do get a really large selection for both in the cocks and butts, and foot fetish areas. There are literally pages and pages of indexes with thumbs of galleries for both types of content. Overall, there’s easily 500 plus different models featured on AsianGuys.com.

Navigation is so-so, I would of liked things that go off site to open in a new window and negate the need for constant use of the back browser to re-enter the actual site. More than once I found myself back out on the tour and not in the member area, or I closed the entire site by accident.

The Hardcore gallery has pages of vidcaps of various scenes from movies they’ve produced, along with teaser clips and links to where you can purchase or view the entire movie title. Clips are offered in three file sizes, 56k, 100k and 300k in .wmv format. Photos are thumbnail indexed, and you can right click and save the larger images. Most are of medium resolution, and quite a few sets could be served better with some color balancing effort before putting them online.

The solo area has well over 380 solo sets and many include clips of solo jackoffs. These are done in Quicktime format, and loaded quickly into an html page (tested with a cable connection). The Japanese Hardcore is laid out pretty much the same way. I can’t say I was overly thrilled with either area.

There’s a lot of content, but the quality is average for both the photos and the clips. A number of clips with couples or groups of guys seemed very staged, with a noticeable lack of real enthusiasm from the models. I actually found a lot of the solo pieces more enjoyable.

Summary: The site is devoted to the gay Asian niche, and there is a lot to see and do. They’ve had enough years online to gather up quite an extensive collection of content, most of it exclusive, so in that respect it’s certainly worth the price of admission. I think at this point, they would be well served to consider at least a redesign in the member’s area and address the navigation issues. It’s getting to where navigation is funky and it’s obvious they’re trying to cram new features and a lot of content into an old layout, and overall site function is suffering as a result.
